Chris Armes, Rangeland Policy Specialist, Range Branch

I started with the Ministry of Forests spraying weeds under the Youth employment Program in the Cariboo Region in 1992.  After 3 years of being an auxillary Range Technician, I was hired onto the Williams Lake Forest District as a Range Agrologist.  In 2007 I was promoted to the district Range Officer role.  In 2023, I took on the role of the Senior Rangeland Policy Specialist in Range Branch which allowed me to mentor my replacement until I retire at the end of 2025.  I am currently working on the proposed National Park Reserve in the South Okanagan/lower Similkameen as well as providing advice to range agrologists across the Province.
