Lisa Tedesco

RPBio, Lands and Resource Specialist, BC Wildfire Service

Lisa Tedesco is a registered professional biologist and works as a Land and Resource Specialist with the BC Wildfire Service Cultural and Prescribed Fire program. Lisa started in government as a backcountry ranger in Monashee Provincial Park. She moved on to the role of ecosystem biologist which took her from south Okanagan to north Okanagan and eventually to the West Kootenays. Here, Lisa worked to establish an ecosystem restoration program and get prescribed fire back on the land while also supporting species at risk recovery, invasive plant management and land referrals. She worked at the provincial level for two years with the Together for Wildlife program on policy development and research collaborations as well as supporting regions with restoration planning and implementation. In her current role with the Cultural and Prescribed Fire team she works with internal and external partners to expand the use of fire, on fire stewardship and policy, and supports research and training development.
