Tim Philpott, Research Soil Scientist Ministry of Forests

Research Soil Scientist with the Ministry of Forests based in Williams Lake (Cariboo Region). Tim earned a PhD from the UBC Faculty of Forestry in 2018. Shortly after, he joined the Ministry of Forests, where he has been leading a research program in soil ecology. Tim’s work encompasses a wide range of interests, including forest productivity, carbon cycling, post-fire recovery, and biodiversity conservation, with a special emphasis on the role of fungi in these processes and DNA-based methodologies.
