Deb DeLong is a semi-retired Professional Forester currently based in Summerland,BC. She has more than 40 years of experience spanning a broad range of positions including time as a field forester, an applied silvicultural systems researcher, a wood market researcher and more recently the Coordinator and Lecturer for the UBC Master of Sustainable Forest Management (MSFM) program. Deb values clear communication and ability to translate field observations, research, and practitioner insights into accessible, actionable knowledge. Throughout her career, Deb has been committed to strengthen the connection between research, operational practice and community understanding. She now rests a little easier knowing that there are many amazing MSFM graduates working hard out there. Deb is now more often found on the tractor working in the vineyard, recreating outside or maybe at SISCO.
