Sara Leslie

Sara is an MSc candidate in Forestry at the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Stewardship. Her thesis research examines how partial harvesting systems affect drought resilience in BC’s Southern Interior forests, using dendrochronology methods to analyze 30 years of post-treatment data from the Opax Mountain Silvicultural Systems Experiment. Sara previously worked as a Forest Research Technician at Natural Resources Canada’s Atlantic Forestry Centre, where she conducted fieldwork and laboratory projects on a diverse range of forest ecology topics. She holds a bachelor degree in Biology from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, where her undergraduate thesis focused on the interacting effects of clear-cutting and herbicide application on salamanders and their habitat.
